Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid reviewed measures to beautify and clean Lahore on directions from Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar in a meeting at the Chief Minister Office here on Tuesday.
The meeting was attended by Senator Ejaz Chaudhry, Minister for Higher Education Yasir Humayun, Commissioner Lahore Division Captain (Retd) Usman Younis, Secretary Local Government Noorul Amin Mengal, Chairman Lahore Waste Management Company, MD WASA, MD PHA and other officials.
The Health Minister reviewed the role and responsibilities of all institutions in keeping Lahore clean. Chairman LWMC and MD PHA presented roadmap to achieve the objective of a clean Lahore. Commissioner Lahore Division gave presentation on measures to beautify Lahore. The chair decided to develop play lands at vacant government plots.
The Health Minister said, “We are endeavouring to make Lahore green and beautiful as per vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan. A Task Force comprising representatives of concerned institution will be made. All complaints received at Khidmat app are being addressed. We want to see Lahore beautiful. Waste is being disposed on daily basis from all sites. Night Operations are underway by LWMC to dispose of the waste and daily around six ton waste is disposed. All institutions are working in collaboration. Awareness through media is being spread on cleanliness. PHA is taking measures to make Lahore clean and they must focus on removing wastes from Parks. Strategy has been to make Lahore Pollution free. Drains clearing is being ensured. By the joint efforts of all institutions we will make Lahore clean.”
Minister for Higher Education Raja Yasir Humayun said, “The LWMC sweeping operations are underway in Lahore. We are monitoring the cleanliness initiative under the supervision of Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar.
Senator Ejaz Chaudhry said that all institutions are working in collaboration. He said there must be a proper awareness campaign and the support of people is integral to achieving the objective.
